Employee Benefits
We pride ourselves at the Berkley Care Group on job satisfaction, paying above the minimum wage and respecting every member of our team. We encourage training, fun and above all else people that have warmth and kindness and want to work with like-minded people. Discover all of our benefits below.
Berkley Nurse Programme
This is Berkley Care Group's very own Nurse Programme!
The 12 month programme, developed in partnership with Somerset-based care training and support provider Caring Footsteps, takes nurses through four key areas of their work: accountability and professionalism; clinical care skills; leadership and management; and ability to take research and apply it to practice.
With nursing today being a degree-based profession, the programme aims to make the numerous opportunities available within the sector accessible to all nurses, including those who may not have studied at a degree level for many years.
The programme will provide evidence of nursing practice at degree standard and will aid the QNI’s goal of nurses in care homes being provided with the same level of skills as those working in the community.
The Berkley Nurse role will become one of an expert practitioner, clinical lead and as guiding mentors and coaches within our homes and across group. The CPD opportunities seek to ensure that all Berkley Nurses have a progressive career.
Qualifications & Apprenticeships
We offer every single team member the opportunity to undertake a qualification or apprenticeship, following a successful probation period. We have a range of different qualifications covering all roles in our homes.
Hardship Fund
Each year our Berkley Care Hardship Grant opens to any Berkley Care employees to apply for should they find themselves in financial hardship.
WinningTemp - Employee Feedback Platform
Winngtemp is an AI-based platform that measures employee engagement, well-being, and development weekly. It provides you with a platform to make your voice heard; where you can highlight what is working well and what you want to develop and it's completely anonymously.

Dan
Care Home Advanced Practitioner at Blenheim House, Melksham
“”I started working at Blenheim in July 2019 so coming up to 4 years this year! Insane how time flies!
I didn’t know anything at all about care and never thought I would be in this industry. I started off being a carer on the Dementia floor which was amazing and the teamwork and bonding with residents was the best feeling in the world!
A couple of months into my job I was asked by our Central Support Office who asked if I would be interested in going on to do an NVQ 3 course. I was so happy I was offered the opportunity to progress my career. I was then offered to do my CHAP’s course.
Ever since then, I have developed my career and myself on the nursing floor working alongside some amazing nurses and of course my amazing care team which I cannot thank enough for the hard work they put in every shift.
I have now been offered to do my NVQ level 5 and I cannot wait to get started and develop my career and hopefully one day become a care home manager!
I will always thank Blenheim for the times that were tough in my life and for pulling me through, when I didn’t think there was a way.
Thank you to Berkley Care for believing in me to do my NVQ 5 and supporting me day in and day out. Blenheim will be in my heart forever. I love my second family dearly (Blenheim House residents + staff).”
